At this time of year one of my favourite activities is to hit the hedgerows and collect beautiful blackberries. I love to fill my freezer with these, make preserves and of course eat crumble. My preserving is a little slower this year due to being heavily pregnant but I am certainly managing to get plenty of blackberries in the freezer. So I decided to celebrate the beauty of these free berries and am sharing a few branches that I foraged for week 37 of #ayearofbringingnatureinside. I love the red under ripe berries against the deep coloured ripe ones – just ready for picking.
I added these prickly branches to a simple glass bottle (with the aid of my gardening gloves).
Are you picking blackberries at the moment? If so do tell me what you are making with them and don’t forget to share your foraged or homegrown arrangements over on Instagram using the hashtag #ayearofbringingnatureinside
