A Year of Bringing Nature Inside – 35/52

29th August 2018

Week 35 of #ayearofbringingnatureinside is another first for me – gladioli. This challenge has really inspired me to add more flowers to my garden and I am so pleased with how most of them have turned out.

I picked up the gladioli bulbs back in the spring in Poundland and they are completely stunning. I have a mix of colours that seem to be blooming at slightly different times so I was only able to grab a single stem this week for my challenge.

I struggled to find an interesting vase for the gladioli that was tall enough, but had this simple glass one in my collection so fell back on that (not literally, of course). I highly recommend adding some gladioli to your garden, but think about how you will stake them up, as they are top heavy. Next year I will try to find a more aesthetically pleasing solution for them.

And here is a little arrangement that my Mum made from her garden – beautiful, isn’t it?
