A Year of Bringing Nature Inside – 31/52

2nd August 2018

I am currently away enjoying the Dorset sunshine, but shortly before leaving I made and enjoyed a little natural arrangement for week 31 of #ayearofbringingnatureinside.

This week I embraced the purple tones in my garden, bringing together iris, purple sage, lavender and verbena bonariensis. I am so pleased with how this one turned out and I think it looks perfect in this Bath Aqua Glass vase that was a wedding gift.

This is the first time I have grown iris. I actually picked up the bulbs in Poundland pretty late in the season, but all of them have flowered and they are so pretty. If I am honest the blooms didn’t last for long (either on the plant or in the vase) but most things in my garden are going over quickly given the recent heatwave that we have been experiencing.

I love verbena so was also very pleased to include this – even if it does drop little tiny flowers all over my house!

If you would like to share what is blooming in your garden head over to Instagram and don’t forget to use the hashtag #ayearofbringingnatureinside
