Week 22 of #ayearofbringingnatureinside and today I am sharing some white lilacs. I find it a bit strange calling them lilacs when they are white but they are very beautiful and the scent is amazing.
These were gathered from my parents’ garden; the tree actually belongs to their neighbour but hangs over the fence between the gardens.
These are in a little hand painted vase that I recently picked up at a vintage shop for £2. It is very pretty but I do wonder what the history of it is as it has the word Chard painted on it. I am assuming it originates from Chard in Somerset (not that far from where we live), but I can’t imagine Chard being large enough for ‘tourist’ items.
Tell me, what is growing in your garden or adorning your mantelpiece at the moment?
